Ghanaian midfielder Michael Baidoo has officially sealed a season-long loan move to Qatari Stars League side Umm Salal SC.
Baidoo joins the Doha-based club from English side Plymouth Argyle following their relegation to League One at the end of the 2024-25 season.
The 26-year-old had joined Plymouth last season from Swedish outfit Elfsborg, where he impressed over two seasons with his performances and goal-scoring instincts from midfield.
Baidoo made over 60 appearances for Elfsborg, becoming a key figure in their Allsvenskan campaign and attracting attention from clubs across Europe and the Middle East.
However, things didn’t work out for him in the English Championship where he managed just 13 appearances across all competitions for the club.
His switch to Umm Salal comes as the club continues to bolster its ranks ahead of the 2025/26 QSL season, with an eye on improving last season’s mid-table finish.
