Ghana attacker Mohammed Kudus has expressed his delight after scoring in West Ham United win over Arsenal in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening.

Kudus was pleased to take his opportunity in the first team and score his third goal for the Hammers since joining the club in the summer.

Ben White headed an own goal past Aaron Ramsdale - playing his first club game since September - before Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen secured the win.

West Ham took the lead from a corner in the 16th minute with Bowen swinging the ball in close to Ramsdale, before White nodded it past him.

Arsenal got punished five minutes after the break when Kudus beautifully trapped Nayef Aguerd's 50-yard cross-field pass before finishing low through the legs of Gabriel and into the far bottom corner before Jarrod Bowen made it 3-0.

Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard scored the consolation goal for the Gunners deep into stoppage time.

"[Reaching the quarter-finals] sounds really good. After our last game, we had to bounce back, and I'm glad we were able to today," said Kudus. "Everyone was on top of their game and we got the win.

"We've got a lot of good players in the team. With every opportunity I get, I just want to do my best for the team."

Discussing his goal, the Ghanaian added: "The pass from Nayef Aguerd was so good and I didn't have to do a lot. I want to say thanks to Nayef for that pass."
