Black Stars center-back, Mohammed Salisu has finally returned from a long layoff and has begun preseason with English side Southampton ahead of the 2023/24 football season
The 24 year old started the just-ended campaign on a higher note but was subsequently met with a huge injury blow which saw him sidelined for more than half of the second phase of the season.
His last appearance was in March, where he enjoyed 83 minutes of action in a thrilling 3-3 draw with Tottenham Hotspur and surged on to make 27 appearances in all competitions, on the back of the injury.
After remaining on sideline for three months, the lanky defender is back looking fully fit, strong and poised, having already joined the start of Southampton's preseason.
The Saints have resumed early following an appaling season after being relegated from the Premier League to the Championship and are hoping to patch up all cracks in order to make a quick return into the topflight.
However, Salisu's compatriot, Kamaldeen Sulemana is yet to join his colleagues and his early return to the St Mary's Park could be the reason he withdrew from the Black Meteors squad for the ongoing Africa U-23 Cup of Nations in Morocco.
