The talented guardsman, who is a big fan of the EPL contest, says his dream move to the English top-flight was scuppered by injury as he came very close to joining the King Power Stadium outfit

My transfer move to English Premier League side Leicester City FC was derailed by injury following fruitful negotiations between both parties, claims Ghana and FC St. Gallen defender Musah Nuhu.

The 25-year-old tough-tackling centre-back revealed he is an avid admirer of the English top-flight competition and could have now been plying his trade with the former League Champions but for his injury setback.

The former WAFA SC rearguard still habours the dream of moving to the Premier League someday but would fancy playing for Chelsea given his much adoration for the Blues since his childhood.

"I support Chelsea since l was a child and l'd like to play in the English Premier League as Chelsea is my favorite club,"  the tough tackler told Ghanaian Television Channel Metro TV

"I think l had the opportunity to go to the English Premier League but because of my injury, l couldn't make the move. I had talks with Leicester City before l sustained my injury as they were really following me.'" Nuhu added.

The former Ghana U-23 star man shed lights on his sentiments when the transfer deal hits the rock.

"I think at first, l really thought about that. It was like what could've really happened if l didn't get injured? but then if you stay with it, you'll always get stuck so l've moved on even though l've not given up on the move to the Premier League as l'm still pushing hard for it."

Nuhu sustained the terrible injury during a national team assignment over finishing touches in Dubai for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt having made the 29-man provisional squad for the continental showpiece.

The Switzerland-based stopper is yet to make his competitive debut for the senior national team of Ghana, the Black Stars.
