The German second tier outfit have announced the signing of the 26-year-old fullback of Ghanaian descent in the ongoing summer transfer window
German-born Ghanaian righ-back Jan Gyamerah has completed his transfer move to Bundesliga ll side FC Nuremberg ahead of the 2022-23 football league campaign.
The versatile lateral defender joins the Max-Morlock-Stadion outfit on a free transfer having exhausted his deal with fellow lower division side Hamburger SV in the just ended term.
The former VfL Bochum youth man, who has a vast experience in the German lower division contest, says he looks forward to the task ahead as he hopes to make great impact in qualifying his new side to the topflight come next season.
"After intensive and trusting discussions with the Nuremberg club management, I made a conscious decision to go with and with FCN. I am convinced that we can play a good role in the second division and I will do my best every day to be successful with the team. The fact that Manu Wintzheimer, a former teammate, is on the team makes the start easier for me, of course," Gyamerah told his club's official website
Sporting director Dieter Hecking also expressed happiness over the signing of the 26-year-old having spent time together at Hamburger SV.
"Of course I still know Jan from our time together at HSV. He is an experienced player who can be used variably on defense. We are very happy that we were able to convince him to move to 1. FC Nürnberg," Hecking added on his club's communications network.
Gyamerah made 19 appearances in league fixtures for HSV in the just ended campaign.
The Berlin-born defender is still eligible to represent Ghana at the international stage despite playing for the Germany U17, U18 and U19 national youth teams.
