Serie A side SSC Napoli are eyeing German-born Ghanaian winger Ernest Poku from Bundesliga heavyweights Bayer Leverkusen, a report from the ltalian media has indicated.
After joining the BayArena campaigners on a five-year contract from Dutch Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2025, the Ghana-prospect winger has already taken the German top-flight by storm having netted 6 times and assisting 9 in 35 appearances across all competitions so far this season.
According to ltalian newspaper Il Mattino, the Gli Azzurri want to invest heavily by signing young and upcoming players below age 23 and have penciled down the AZ Alkmaar academy graduate as their ideal first target in a bid to land him in the summer, with a source telling the news outlet that the 22-year-old ''could potentially generate a profit after a few years at Napoli".
With his running contract set to expire in 2030, those that are vying for his signature must splash a fee of €20 million on his head if they are to land him in the summer as per his transfermarkt valuation.
Given his Ghanaian heritage, the Hamburg-born winger still remains eligible to play for Ghana on the international stage having played for The Netherlands national youth teams.
