Ghanaian budding talent, Daniel Akanbek has completed a move to Nigeria Professional Football League side, Katsina United on a free transfer. 

The midfield marshal, opted for contract termination after helping Nations Football Club secure qualification into the Ghanaian Premier League to embark on a new journey of his career.

Akanbek despite battling with series of injuries last season, he featured for the Eagles on sixteen occasions in the Division One League with two goals and eight assists to help the team clinch the league title at the end of the 2022/23 season and also played a part in other competitions including the MTN FA Cup.

Akanbek in an interview, revealed why he joined Katsina United in Nigeria.

“I opted for Katsina United because of how determine they are ahead of the new season and their eagerness to compete competitively in the upcoming season. With the aim of grabbing a spot in CAF competitions together with the good structure I’ve seen so far.

"I also feel this is an opportunity for me to move out of my comfort zone in Ghana and try new adventures abroad."

He furthered on by exhibiting his readiness and willingness to help his new team achieve success in the new season.

"Now, I’m here to give my very best to help elevate the team in attaining honors the club deserves” - He concluded
