The Austrian top-flight outfit landed the talented teenage sensation of Ghanaian descent on a season-long loan from the German giants on transfer deadline day

German-born Ghanaian promising forward Gibson Nana Adu has joined Austrian Bundesliga side SCR Altach from Bundesliga heavyweights Bayern Munich on loan until the end of the 2025-26 campaign, the club have confirmed.

The 17-year-old budding star is yet again set to spent this new season on loan after spending the entire last season on loan at his former employers SpVgg Unterhaching.

A statement for his transfer loan switch read ''SCR Altach strengthens its squad with another new signing on the last day of the transfer window: offensive talent Gibson Adu moves to Rheindorf on loan from FC Bayern Munich's second team and has already started training with his new teammates.

''The 17-year-old began his football career at SC Lerchenberg before moving to the youth academy of FSV Mainz 05. Via SpVgg Unterhaching, his path led him to German record champions FC Bayern Munich in the summer of 2024, who loaned him back to Unterhaching for one season. Despite his young age, Adu has already made 18 appearances in the 3. Liga. After a short injury break, he is fully fit again and ready to take the next step in his career in Altach.''

Gibson said to the club's official website: ''I'm really looking forward to my new role at SCR Altach and have set myself the goal of playing my first Bundesliga matches as soon as possible. The conditions here are ideal for my development, and I'm convinced this is the right step for me. I want to integrate into the team quickly, work hard, and make my contribution so that we can be successful together.''

Sporting director Philipp Netzer added: ''With Gibson Adu, we are getting a young player with interesting abilities who has already gained some experience in adult football. He brings a carefree style of play and can be deployed flexibly in the attacking area. It is important to us to give him the necessary time for his development and not to build up unrealistic expectations. We are convinced that he can develop step by step and enrich our team with his style."

Born and raised to Ghanaian parents in Germany, he could be a sure bet for Ghana at the international level given his magnificent talent as a Bayern Munich future prospect.
