Ghana women U-20 national team captain, Stella Nyamekye has completed a move to National Women's Soccer League side Gotham FC.
The club posted this on Facebook to confirm the details of the transfer;
"Welcome to GothamFC. The club has acquired Ghanaian midfielder Stella Nyamekye from Dreamz Ladies FC of the Ghana Women’s Premier League in exchange for an undisclosed transfer fee. Nyamekye has signed a three-year contract through 2027, with a mutual option for 2028."
The 19-year-old has been with Dreamz Ladies since 2021 and has been a revelation following her consistent high level performances for the club and the country's various women national team.
Stella Nyamekye captained the Ghana U-20 side at the 2024 FIFA Women’s World Cup, starting in all three group-stage matches - tallying two goals and one assist.
Prior to the World Cup, Stella also starred and played an instrumental role to help the Black Princesses win gold at the African Games and also emerged champions of the maiden WAFU U,-20 Girls Cup.
The mercurial playmaker at just 18, made her Black Queens debut in a 3-0 win against Benin on February 19, 2023.
The deal is pending receipt of her P-1 visa and International Transfer Certificate.
