The teenager of Ghanaian root has completed his loan switch to the English third tier campaigners from the top-flight side in this ongoing winter window
English-born Ghanaian teenager William Nkwawu Tamen has joined League Two club Tranmere Rovers from Premier League side Everton on a loan deal until the end of the season, the club have announced.
The 19-year-old is teaming up with the Prenton Park outfit from the Everton Under-21 side in order to continue with his development as a budding rising star in the lower division contest for the remainder of the current campaign.
An official confirmation over the capturing of the former Burton U18 star reads: ''Tranmere Rovers are delighted to announce the loan signing of centre-back Will Tamen from Premier League Everton until the end of the 2025/26 season.
''Tamen, 19, made his professional debut in League One in 2023/24 with Burton Albion and made two appearances in the EFL Trophy, one of which was against Everton. In August 2024, he joined Everton on a three-year deal and scored against Grimsby Town in this season’s Vertu Trophy.''
The teenager stated to his club's official website: ''I’m very excited and happy to be here. I would say I’m a very aggressive centre-back, but ultimately, I like to play as well; that’s really my game. I’ve come to showcase my abilities here, and I believe I’m ready for this level.”
Club manager Andy Crosby added: ''Will is a player whose career I’ve followed with interest since I saw him play in the FA Youth Cup for Burton Albion v Port Vale a couple of seasons ago. Since then, his career has taken an upward trajectory following his move to Premier League Everton. Will is a fantastic athlete, physically imposing in duels and quick over the ground. He is ready for League Two football, and we look forward to welcoming him into our Club and helping him improve our group.''
Given his Ghanaian heritage, he remains fit to play for Ghana on the international stage.
