The 34-year-old experienced forward has sealed a deal with the Örjans Vall Stadium outfit ahead of the new football season in the Swedish top-flight

Swedish Allsvenskan side Halmstads BK have announced the signing of veteran Ghanaian forward  Kwame Karikari in an undisclosed period of contract.

The former AIK frontman is linking up with his new employers on a free transfer after leaving Thai League 3 side Burapha United this January.

An official statement confirming the signing of the former Ghana U20 star reads on the club's official website: ''Kwame Karikari was here for a few months. JANUARY 21, 1992 , Kwame Karikari was born.

''He joined HBK in 2015 from AIK, where he had played in the Swedish league. He was only with HBK in the spring before being loaned to Turkey. Before 2016, he was sold to FK Haugesund. Since then, there have been many club changes for the Ghanaian.''

The capturing of the former lnter Allies youth star by the Swedish Championship outfit is set to inject a new form of energy into the set-up of manager Johan Lindholm as he looks forward to wrestling the league title against their fierce top division rivals for the 2026-27 campaign.

He is not new to the Allsvenskan contest having taken in spells with AIK and Degerfors IF in his footballing career so far at the club level.

Having figured for the Ghana U20 national youth team, the experienced striker is yet to win his international cap with the senior national team.
