The promising shot-stopper of Ghanaian descent has inked a fresh term with the German second division outfit, with his new deal set to come to a close in 2026
German-born Ghanaian goalkeeper Faaris Yusufu has signed a one-year contract extension with 2. Bundesliga side Schalke 04, the club have confirmed.
The 20-year-old last line of defense, who has been with the Gelsenkirchen club since 2013, has been a phenomenon figure for his side given his impressive performances with the Schalke 04 ll as a budding star so far.
Sporting director Raffael Tonello spoke highly of the Ghana-prospect goaltender after tying him down to a fresh term as being quoted by Kicker: ''Faaris has proven himself in the second half of the season following the injury to Luca Podlech. He was a key player in decisive games, and his performance played a major role in our survival.''
Faaris kept 3 clean sheets and conceded 11 in 8 appearances for Schalke 04 ll in the just ended Regional League West 2024-25 campaign.
Given his Ghanaian heritage, the Bochum-born goalkeeper remains eligible to play for Ghana on the international stage.
