The 21-year-old winger of Ghanaian heritage has completed his move to the German fourth division club ahead of the start of the new football contest

German-born Ghanaian winger Ibrahim Bashiru Ali has joined Regionalliga Nord side SC Weiche Flensburg on a one-year contract, the club have confirmed.

The talented winger is joining the Manfred-Werner-Stadion outfit on a free transfer following the expiration of his deal with his former club Niendorfer TSV in this summer transfer market.

An excerpt of a statement over the signing of the nimble left-footed wideman read: ''SC Weiche Flensburg 08 announces its next signing for the 2025/26 season. Ibrahim Ali is transferring from Hamburg's Oberliga club Niendorfer TSV to Germany's northernmost Regionalliga club . The 21-year-old left winger most recently made a name for himself in the Elbe metropolis' top flight, scoring 28 points – 16 goals and providing 12 assists – in the recently concluded 2024/25 season. He will wear jersey number 26 for Weiche next season and is the ninth new signing this summer.''

Sporting director Dominique Natusch spoke about the capturing of the 21-year-old via his club's official website: ''We wanted to sign a young, goal-hungry, and developmentally capable striker. In Ibrahim Ali, we've found a player who meets this requirement and in whom we see further potential. We will offer him the opportunity to take the next steps with us." Our assistant coach Tim Wulff, speaking on behalf of his "boss," Torsten Fröhling, adds: "We had Ibrahim here for a two-day trial training session. He immediately impressed us – the entire coaching team. In the training sessions, we could already see that he has a great desire to score goals and that he can be extremely aggressive in one-on-one duels. He can certainly be very unpleasant for defenders.''

The Ghana-prospect winger added: ''The team welcomed me very well during training," says the left winger, "which is why I felt at home right away." And what are the ambitious striker's goals? "It's all about achieving the best with the team and improving myself. I see Weiche as the next step and an opportunity. Ultimately, I want to become a professional.''

He played an immense role for Niendorfer TSV last term having figured in 39 games by netting 22 times and assisting 18 across all contests in the 2024-25 campaign.

Given his Ghanaian heritage, the Hamburg-born youngster still remains eligible to play for Ghana on the international stage.
