The 27-year-old midfield enforcer completed his transfer move to the Spanish second division side from the Croatian elite division outfit on transfer deadline day 

Ghanaian midfielder Michael Agbekpornu has sealed a move to Segunda División club SD Huesca from Croatian Football League side Slaven Belupo on a two-and-a-half-year contract, the club have confirmed.

The former Dreams FC man, who has excelled in the Croatian elite division football campaign for the past three seasons, has now crossed carpet to the Spanish football contest as he is now all set to begin life in the La Liga 2 competition for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.

An official confirmation over his transfer switch to the Estadio El Alcoraz campaigners reads on the club's official website: ''Michael Agbekpornu ( Ghana, 1997) is a new player for SD Huesca. The footballer arrives on a transfer from Slaven Belupo and has signed with the club until 2028. He is a defensive midfielder who stands out for his physique, solidity, great work capacity and tactical discipline.

''He arrives from the Croatian Super League HNL. For the past three seasons, he has played for Slaven Belupo, where he has made 69 appearances, scoring two goals and providing five assists.

''Previously, he played for two seasons at KF Egnatia, in the Albanian Super League, a team he joined from Dreams FC of the Ghanaian First Division. Welcome, Michael!''

Before severing ties with the Croatian outfit in this winter window , he took in 18 appearances across all competitions in this ongoing football campaign.

Agbekpornu is yet to earn his cap with the Ghana senior national team, the Black Stars having featured for the Ghana U23 national team so far on the international stage.
