The 20-year-old midfielder enforcer of Ghanaian heritage completed his transfer move to the Belgian second tier side from the elite division outfit on transfer deadline day
Belgian-born Ghanaian youngster Elton Yeboah has joined Belgian Challenger Pro League club Lierse SK from Pro League side KV Mechelen on a two-and-a-half-year contract, the club have confirmed.
The ex-KRC Genk budding star is joining the Yellow-Black after failing to establish himself as a first team player with the top division side since he was drafted into the mainstream squad from the youth ranks in 2024.
With game time hard to come by so far this season, the budding Ghana-prospect midfielder has now been moved on to his current suitors on a permanent basis and he is set to begin his journey in the lowly division contest for the remainder of the current campaign.
A statement confirming his signing by the AsterX Group-f Arena campaigners reads on the club's official website: ''Just before the winter transfer window closes, Lierse can complete a fourth incoming transfer. Elton Yeboah (20) will join our ranks. The Antwerp-born midfielder signed a contract until 2028 and joins from KV Mechelen.
''Elton progressed through the youth ranks of Beerschot, KRC Genk, and KV Mechelen. In 2024, he signed his first professional contract with Malinwa, where he became a regular in midfield for Jong KV. Now, he's moving to the AsterX Group-f Arena.
''Yellow and black close the winter transfer window with four incoming transfers (Stanic, Boncina, Willems and Yeboah) and three outgoing files (De Kerf, Asare and Adinany). Welcome to Lier, Elton!''
Given his Ghanaian heritage, the Borgerhout-born native promising midfielder remains eligible to represent Ghana on the international stage.
