The promising teenage sensation joins the Swedish top-flight campaigners from his second-tier mother club on a long-term deal which is set to expire in 2030
Allsvenskan club GAIS have confirmed the signing of Ghanaian teen Blessing Asumang Dankwah from Superettan outfit Örebro SK on a five-year contract.
The 19-year-old sealed his transfer switch to his new side on transfer deadline day after passing his mandatory medical examinations earlier on the day before putting pen to paper on the terms.
A confirmation over his capturing read ''GAIS has agreed with Örebro SK on a transfer and a five-year contract for 19-year-old winger Blessing Asumang, ahead of the 2026 season.
''Blessing, whose full name is Blessing Asumang Dankwah, joined ÖSK on loan from Accra Lions in Ghana until 2025. He was born in 2006 and plays primarily as a left winger.
''In Örebro, which has had a tough season, he has been noted for 1 assist in 15 games. In 2024, there were five goals and two assists in 31 games in the Ghanaian top league.''
Technical director Magnus Sköldmark said after securing the promising teenager on a long-term contract via the club's official media: ''We are happy to introduce Blessing Asumang Dankwah to all Gaisa fans. He has exciting qualities that we have identified. It will certainly take some time for him to acclimatize in our environment, as for most players who come to us. We see strong potential in him! The fact that he already plays in Swedish football is of course an advantage.''
Blessing added: ''Thank you, it feels great! I've been in ÖSK for six months so far, but it feels good to make this move after the season. This is my first year as a football player in Europe and it feels great to get the chance in an Allsvenskan team. It must mean I've done something good!''
He has already been tipped as the next big thing to happen to Ghana football on the international stage given his promising talent as a budding star.
