The 19-year-old talented teenager of Ghanaian descent has sealed his season-long loan to the German second-tier outfit from his top-flight mother club ahead of the closure of today's transfer window
2. Bundesliga side VfL Bochum have confirmed the loan signing of German-born Ghanaian teen Farid Alfa-Ruprecht from Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen.
The former Manchester City U18 star is linking up with the Bochum-based club in order for regular playing time as he is set to continues with his development in the second division contest for the entire 2025-26 campaign.
An official confirmation over the loan signing of the teenage sensation read: ''VfL Bochum 1848 has brought Farid Alfa-Ruprecht to Castroper Straße. The 19-year-old striker will join on loan from Bayer 04 Leverkusen for the 2025/26 season. The German U18 international (four appearances, one goal) has been trained at Manchester City in recent years.''
Sporting director Dirk Dufner stated of the loan deal of the Ghana-prospect to his club's official media: "Farid Alfa-Ruprecht is a highly skilled young player with real pace; his dynamism is exceptional. He will take Sammy Bamba's place in our squad, meaning we have a quality team in that position in attack."
"I'm delighted that the move to VfL has come to fruition," says Farid Alfa-Ruprecht. "It will be the next step for me; the 2. Bundesliga is tough competition. But I'm ready to take on the challenge."
Given his Ghanaian heritage, the promising wonderkid still remains fit to play for Ghana on the international stage after featuring for the Germany U16, U17 & U18 national youth teams.
