The teenage stopper has completed his transfer move to the Swedish top-flight outfit in this current summer transfer window

Ghanaian budding centre-back Rockson Yeboah has joined Swedish Allsvanskan side IFK Göteborg, the club have confirmed.

Following an unsuccessful loan stint with Greek outfit AEK Anthens last term, the talented defender has now linked up with the Swedish elite division side for the 2024-25 campaign.

Announcing the deal, those in charge of the Gamla Ullevi Stadium have said their deal with the Young African Promises FC product is a multi-year one without being specific on the  duration of the contract: "Rockson Yeboah is done.Our new centre-back is from Ghana, 20 years old and has signed a multi-year contract with IFK Göteborg."

"190 centimeter tall Rockson Yeboah is ready for IFK Gothenburg.The centre-back joins from Ghanaian academy Young African Promises FC, where he recently returned after a one-year loan to Greek side AEK Athens."

The teenage sensation had this to say right after putting pen to paper: "It is a very big opportunity for me to represent such a well-known club as IFK Gothenburg. I am very much looking forward to moving to Gothenburg - to meet my new teammates."

 Club's manager Ola Larsson added: "We have followed Rockson for over a year and seen him on site both in Ghana and in Greece. It is a big centre-back with a great physique, and who is also fast. We have also received good references from several parties, which has created an overall picture of a person and player who we believe will fit in very well at IFK Gothenburg."

According to IFK, his work permit process has started with the Swedish Migration Agency and they hope to have him ready to play in the next few weeks.

 He's yet to earn his international cap with Ghana at any international level.
