The German third-tier outfit completed the loan transfer signing of the budding star on transfer deadline day
Ghanaian youngster King Manu has joined German 3.Liga side FC Hansa Rostock on a season-long loan deal from Fortuna Dusseldorf, the club have confirmed.
The 20-year-old is teaming up with the relegated second-tier outfit in order to gain much experience in the lower division contest as a rising star.
Announcing the loan deal, those in charge of the Ostseestadion have said the contractual terms do not include an obligation to buy him permanently upon its expiration: "FC Hansa has strengthened its squad once again and has loaned the versatile King Manu from second division club Fortuna Düsseldorf until the end of the season. The 20-year-old can play in central attack, defensive midfield and central defence. King Manu is 1.95 metres tall and has played five second division matches for the Fortuna pros and 17 regional league matches (4 goals) for the Düsseldorf second team. Manu, who was trained in the youth team of Borussia Mönchengladbach, played in the Oberliga Niederrhein for MSV Düsseldorf (30 matches/4 goal."
The Ghana-prospect midfielder had this to say right after appending his signature to the loan deal: "After talking to Amir Shapourzadeh, the head coach, and Chris Kinsombi, who I already know, I quickly had the feeling that this was the right option for me. I think that I can help the team with my qualities and that I can develop myself further both athletically and in terms of character. I can be used in a variety of positions and feel comfortable in all central positions. But I can also play in central defense because I'm an aggressive type of player who always wants to win. I'm looking forward to the year at Hansa and the fans and I'll give it my all."
Sporting director Amir Shapourzadeh added: "King Manu convinced us above all with his mentality and assertiveness. He took an exciting detour outside of the performance centers to end up in professional football, which speaks for his absolute will. "Due to his size and physique, he has very good physical prerequisites and can find solutions even in tight spaces. With his power and unorthodox style of play, King Manu brings another invigorating element to our game, making us more difficult to predict. Our thanks go to Fortuna Düsseldorf, who have enabled us to bring a very talented player to Rostock through the loan."
Given his Ghanaian parentage, he still remains qualified to represent Ghana at the international level.
