Ghanaian midfielder, Kudus Mohammed really excelled on his first West Ham United start and found the back of the net to propel them to a precious win in their opening game of the 2023/24 UEFA Europa League season.

The Hammers fought very hard from behind to inflict a 3-1 victory over Serbian fold FK TSC Bačka Topola on Thursday night at the London Olympic Stadium.

Just four minutes later, Ghana's Kudus Mohammed after an impressive display, headed from Ward-Prowse corner to double the lead and to secure his first goal for the East-Londoners.

Reacting to the win, Kudus, who just joined from Ajax in the just-closed transfer window, praised the team's spirit and was happy with the win- which was their ultimate goal.

“We wanted the goals in the first half so that we can control the game but we didn’t have any. We went down but the winning mentality from the guys was good. We kept doing what the coach taught us and the results came afterward.”

The 23-year-old will hope for another starting berth against giants Liverpool FC in the Premier League this Sunday, at Anfield.
