The relegated English second tier outfit are on the verge of landing the services of the defender of Ghanaian origin in this current transfer market

League One club Plymouth Argyle are set to sign London-born Ghanaian defender Brendan Wiredu from League Two side Fleetwood Town, according to multiple reports from the English media.

The 25-year-old centre-back is expected to link up with The Greens in the coming days after agreeing personal terms with his current suitors.

Per news outlet PlymouthLive, both clubs have reached an agreement over the sale of the former Charlton Athletic man in a deal believed to be around £300,000 for his services ahead of the upcoming football season.

lt is understood that Wiredu has already passed his mandatory medical examinations and he is expected to put pen to paper on the deal soon as both parties are working closely to finalize the deal in the coming days.

He featured in 34 league games by netting 2 times for Fleetwood Town in the recently concluded 2024-25 football season.

Wiredu remains eligible to play for Ghana on the international stage as he is yet to be cap-tied by the England national team given his Ghanaian heritage.
