Ghanaian young-sensation Caleb Yirenkyi has popped up on the wishlist of English Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion who are looking to beat other competitors to secure his service very soon.
The 19-year-old is valued around £20 million and has enjoyed a breakout season after being converted into a holding midfielder.
Originally deployed as a right-sided midfielder—and even featuring at right-back for the Black Stars —the youngster has flourished in his new deeper role.
The transformation came under the guidance of Nordsjaelland manager Jens Fonsskov Olsen, and significantly, under the watch of Ghanaian legend Michael Essien, who serves as assistant coach at the club.
Yirenkyi’s composure, power, and ball-winning ability in the No. 6 role has earned him series of recognitions and has popped up on the radar of some clubs including Arsenal.
However, the latest to join the race is Brighton who are really pushing to get the deal done and could be in this winter transfer window or in the summer.
Caleb Yirenkyi has been consistent and very amazing for FC Nordsjaelland having made 17 appearances this season with a goal and four assists to his credit in the Danish Superliga.
He is expected to make Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup - which is six months away from now and will be held in three countries; USA, Canada and Mexico.
