The Blades have reportedly set their sights on the Black Stars captain to secure his signature after an uninspiring season's start in the Premier League.

Ghana international Andre Ayew could seal a free transfer move to English Premier League side Sheffield United after emerging on the radar of Paul Heckingbottom’s side.

According to English tabloid TeamTalk, Sheffield United are currently on the heels of the 33-year-old to strengthen their attacking options with his acquisition.

Having featured in the English Premier League last season for Nottingham Forest, Ayew has been without a club since the commencement of the 2023/24 football season.

He left Steve Cooper's side upon the expiration of his six-month contract and a decision to extend it was kicked against by the club after making 13 appearances for Nottingham Forest.

Ayew, who is currently with the senior national team of Ghana for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, has already attracted interest from clubs in America and Middle East.

He has a vast experience in top-flight football after having stints with Olympique Marseille, Swansea City, West Ham United, Fenerbache and Al Sadd.

Ayew has capped 114 times for the Black Stars of Ghana and managed to score 24 goals.
