Ghanaian midfielder Richmond Darko has signed a contract extension with Thai side Chonburi FC ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The 23-year-old defensive midfielder will continue his stay with the Sharks after impressing the club’s technical team during the second half of the 2025/26 campaign.
Darko joined Chonburi in the middle of last season and quickly became one of the team’s most reliable midfield engine.
His calmness on the ball, strong tackling and disciplined performances helped him cement a regular place in the team.
The Ghanaian made 14 appearances in all competitions and played 1,089 minutes during the season.
His consistent performance earned praise from supporters and the coaching staff as he helped bring stability to Chonburi’s midfield.
In an official statement, Chonburi FC confirmed the new contract and said Richmond Darko remains an important player for head coach Rangsarn Vivatvichaiyok ahead of the new season.
The Sharks believes the former FC Samartex and Tema Youth player will continue to play a key role as they prepare for the upcoming Thai League season.
