SC Freiburg received promising news as head coach Christian Streich provided an update on the recovery progress of Daniel-Kofi Kyereh, the offensive player who suffered a severe cruciate ligament tear approximately nine months ago.
Kyereh, who is 27 years old, has shown significant improvement in his rehabilitation. Nevertheless, Coach Streich refrained from specifying a definite timeline for Kyereh's return to training, emphasizing the need for a cautious approach to the recovery process.
Streich revealed that Kyereh is currently involved in running training, and he stated, "It's better now. We'll see that he no longer has any problems running."
However, he refrained from making a prediction regarding Kyereh's return to full training.
Daniel-Kofi Kyereh signed a contract with Bundesliga club SC Freiburg on June 27, 2022. On October 1, 2022, he marked his debut competitive goal for Freiburg in a league match against Mainz. Just five days later, he scored his first goal in European football, helping secure a 2-0 victory over FC Nantes in the Europa League group stage.
