Ghanaian prodigy, Sumaila Awudu has kicked off the 2024/25 football season on a higher note having captained Clermont Foot B to a pulsating 1-1 away draw at Lyon la Douchère in the French National Championnat 3.
The homesters opened the scoring account but the Young Lancers subsequently grab the equally to split the points thanks to a goal from Amine Bouchena
The 19-year-old joined Clermont Foot in the summer of 2023 and has been nothing but exceptional from their U-19 side and has finally been promoted.
The versatile defender started as a captain and operated as a left-sided center-back in a three-back system where he functioned very well and caught the good eyes of all supporters present at the Douchère Stadium with his majestic performance.
The JMG Academy graduate is looking forward to continue flourishing as he aims at getting a call up into the Clermont Foot first team who currently compete in the French Ligue 2.
Clermont Foot reserve will host Évian Thonon in the next round of matches next week on September 7, at the Stade Gabriel-Montpied (annexe 2).
