The Swedish top division club are reportedly eyeing the loan services of the 21-year-old midfielder of Ghanaian heritage from the English second tier outfit in this winter window
Swedish Allsvenskan side AIK Fotboll are interested in signing English-born Ghanaian midfielder Alex Matos from Championship club Sheffield United on a loan deal until the end of the season, a report has claimed.
The promising midfielder, who joined The Blades on a three-year contract from Premier League giants Chelsea in the summer of 2025, has so far found game time hard to come by during the first stanza of the campaign and is now likely to be moved on to suitors for the remainder of the season.
Per Football lnsider, AIK are now looking forward to bolstering their midfield options and have identified the former Oxford United loanee man to be the ideal midfielder to fit in their system in the second half of the campaign, with Journalist Pete O'Rourke claiming talks of negotiations have already begun between both clubs.
The Bedford-born midfielder has so far taken in 8 appearances in this ongoing English Championship football season.
Given his Ghanaian heritage, Matos still remains eligible to represent Ghana at the international level despite playing for the England U20 national team.
