The 28-year-old was not impressed with his demotion to the reserve side of the Lotto Park outfit prior to his loan move to the Belgian top-tier campaigners this January

Ghana's Majeed Ashimeru was left fuming at RSC Anderlecht's management over their decision to relegate him to the RSCA Futures side before loaning him out to Belgian Pro League rivals RAAL La Louvière in the just-ended winter transfer window.

Since linking up with the Purple & White in 2021, the ex-WAFA SC mercurial midfielder has endured a torrid time with injuries. However, with such setbacks limiting his game time with the first-team this season, the ball-playing midfielder was eventually frozen out and forced to spent time with the reserve team before heading to the Easi Arena for the remainder of the current campaign.

Speaking in an interview, the former Red Bull Salzburg midfielder was left blowing fuse at the decision amid holding the team in a high esteem as his permanent employers, telling newspaper La Dernière Heure: ''The club no longer saw me in its plans. I have been at Anderlecht for a long time. I love this club and its supporters. The management's decision was difficult to accept, I won't hide it. But in the end, it must be respected.''

He added: ''I have no problem with them. The most important thing is that Anderlecht moves forward. Since my arrival in 2021, the club has done so much for me, as have the fans. I could never hold it against them."

With the 2026 FIFA World Cup looming, the 12-time capped Ghana international midfielder will now be eager to regain his form with his current suitors as he hopes to make it to the global football event in June this year.
