Arsenal legend Ian Edward Wright strongly disagrees with Mikel Arteta's decision to use an enterprising midfielder like Thomas Partey on the right side of defense as he feels he deserves to play in his natural position with the technical abilities he's got.
The 31-year-old was known to be an injury prone figure couple of seasons ago but has really been very lucky in the ongoing campaign having stayed fully fit since the start and has starred very well so far in every important game the Gunners have played.
However, the versatile middleman has been playing in two positions this season having operated on the right-back position most at times depriving him of getting the opportunity to operate in the defensive-midfield role which is his main spot.
Speaking after Arsenal's 2-2 home draw against Aston Villa, Ian Wright, who won numerous titles with Arsenal, has asked Spanish tactician Mikel Arteta to deploy Partey back to the center half of the pitch since that's his main position.
"With the players available, I think Thomas Partey should not be playing at the defense," Wright said on Premier League Production after the game. He is a midfielder and that is where should be playing."
Thomas Partey is really enjoying himself having made 31 appearances in all competitions currently tallying two goals and two assists.
