The 22-year-old defender of Ghanaian origin is determined to bounce back in a great fashion after returning from his injury setback in this ongoing season
Danish-born Ghanaian centre-back Jonas Jensen-Abbew has expressed his disappointment over his injury plight with Aarhus Gymnastikforening, with ''working insanely'' the only thing on his mind for the turn-of-the-year in the Danish top-flight.
The talented defender, who linked up with the Ceres Park outfit on a five-year deal from fellow league rivals FC Nordsjaelland during the summer, saw his bright start to the 2024-25 season mired by an injury at the early stage of the campaign.
Nonetheless, after returning to full fitness, the Ghana-prospect stopper is determined to work hard and cement his position given the stiff competitions at his playing department in manager Uwe Rösler's set-up this term.
''I have had some ups and downs, but overall I am satisfied. I started well and got what I wanted out of it, and then there have been some injuries that have put a bit of a brake on me. And we are in a huge club with great competition, so the playing time has not been quite where I thought it should be. But the competition is good, and I am fighting to get more minutes,'' the 22-year-old told Tipsbladet.
He added: ''The only thing on my mind is to just work insanely hard. I've been working hard over the holidays to get back in the best shape possible and be ready to give it a shot now.''
Jensen-Abbew has so far played in 10 league games for AGF in this ongoing 2024-25 Danish Superliga football campaign.
Given his Ghanaian heritage, the young central defender still remains eligible to represent Ghana on the international stage despite playing for the Danish U21 national youth team.
