Turkish Süper Lig returnees Kocaelispor have set their sights on Swiss-Ghanaian centre-back Gregory Wüthrich as they look to reinforce their backline ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The powerful defender, who currently plies his trade with Sturm Graz in the Austrian Bundesliga, has attracted interest following a string of commanding performances at the heart of defence.
The 30-year-old, known for his aerial dominance, physicality, and calmness under pressure, has become a key cog in Sturm Graz’s setup.
He has made over 178 appearances, scored 11 goals, and fired seven assists for the Austrian side.
Though born in Switzerland, Wüthrich is eligible to represent Ghana through his maternal side and has previously been on the radar of Black Stars selectors. A move to Turkey could bring him further into the national team conversation, especially with World Cup preparations on the horizon.
Kocaelispor are reportedly eager to wrap up the signing swiftly, as they aim to remain in the Turkish Süper Lig. Wüthrich would add instant stability and experience to a team looking to make a serious statement.
