The defender of Ghanaian heritage is now a wanted man at the Stadio Friuli and could be snapped up in the upcoming summer transfer window
Serie A outfit Udinese Calcio have reportedly expressed interest in signing Ghana-target Derrick Köhn from Turkish giants Galatasaray, a report from the German media has indicated.
The 26-year-old ex-Hannover 96 left-back, who is on loan at Bundesliga side Werder Bremen, has emerged as a transfer target for the Italian top-flight club and are working around the clock to secure his signature in the summer.
Per German tabloid Bild-Zeitung, Udinese Calcio and an unnamed German side have already contacted the Turkish heavyweights over the services of the former FC Bayern ll man in an effort to land him ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
The report added that the Die Werderaner are unwilling to exercise their option of making the 26-year-old loan deal permanent as they do not want to fork out the €5m in excess transfer fee for his outright purchase at the end of his loan stint this term.
Derrick has so far been involved in 22 games by netting 2 and assisting 2 for Werder Bremen across all competitions in this ongoing football season.
Given his Ghanaian heritage, the Hamburg-born defender remains eligible to play for Ghana on the international stage despite playing for the Germany U19 national youth team.
