The man in charge of the dugout at the Guldensporen Stadion has hinted that his outfit and the experienced defender could come to terms over a deal having been together for the past weeks

KV Kortrijk boss Michiel Jonckheere has confirmed that Ghana international defender Denis Odoi is currently maintaining his fitness level with his side and could team up with them following his impressive display so far in his training sessions.

The 37-year-old full-back, who severed ties with Royal Antwerp this summer, is working his way out to land a deal with new suitors as he remains unattached in this current campaign.

That notwithstanding, the former Fulham man could now be set for a move to The Guys after impressing in training, with the Belgian manager already being carried away by his leadership qualities as an experienced defender.

The young tactician told news outlet Het Laatste Nieuws about Odoi's potential transfer to Kortrijk: ''Odoi has contacted me. Right now, it's purely to maintain his fitness, but that could change.''

''Denis is a really good fit for the team. He's coaching the other players, and that's great to see. We'll undoubtedly sit down together again to discuss the future.''

He is so far boasting of 14 caps with Ghana Senior National Team since switching nationality allegiance to represent the four-time African champions in 2022.
