President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo has promised to give the needed support to the Black Stars for a successful campaign at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Ghana is hoping to win its fifth continental trophy at the 34th edition of the tournament since winning their last title in 1982.
The leader of the West African nation in a meeting with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) pledged to offer a hundred percent (100%) support to the team at the Africa Cup of Nations slated to be hosted in Ivory Coast early next year.
"Ghanaians are obsessed with football, and you have the mandate of ensuring that our game is on the right path. We have the Africa Cup of Nations in a few days, and it is our responsibility to give the technical team and the playing body the needed support to succeed in neighbouring Cote D'Ivoire” he said.
The Black Stars of Ghana have been housed in Group B of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt, Mozambique and Cape Verde.
Ghana will open their campaign against Cape Verde at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan on January 14, 2024, then face Egypt at the same venue four days later and then Mozambique at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium on January 22, 2024.
The 2023 AFCON has been scheduled to kick off from January 13 to February 11.
