Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kurt Okraku has urged Ghanaians to rally support to the Black Stars at the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

Ghana is among the twenty-four (24) nations that will battle for the prestigious title at the 34th edition of the continental showpiece slated for early next year.
 
Having failed at the last edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, Kurt Okraku h implored the citizens of the West African nation to remain supportive to Coach Chris Hughton's men at the tournament.
 
"Indeed, at the last outing, it did not go well. Everybody in Ghana saw what happened but we are looking forward to a much better outing at the AFCON in Ivory Coast," Okraku said 
 
"Fortunately for us, it is happening at our next door and I will call on all Ghanaians to remain supportive of the Black Stars because that is our national team we have.
 
"Even if the boys are not playing scintillating football, we have to throw weight behind them because that is our national team," he added.
 
Chris Hughton is expected to announce Ghana's final 27-man squad for the tournament on January 3.
 
Ghana, who are chasing to lift their fifth continental title have been housed in Group B for the tournament and will face Cape Verde, Egypt and Mozambique in the tournament which will be hosted in Ivory Coast next year.
 
The Black Stars of Ghana will first come up against Cape Verde at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan on January 14, 2024, then face Egypt at the same venue four days later and then Mozambique at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium on January 22, 2024.
 
The 2023 AFCON has been scheduled to kick off from January 13 to February 11.
