The 2023 Africa Games draw for football in women category was held earlier today at the Sofitel Hotel Ivoire in Abidjan.

The eight teams that participated in the fourth qualifying round of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, Costa Rica 2022, secured automatic qualification to the main competition and have been housed in two groups.

Ghana as the host, have been placed in Group A alongside Tanzania, Uganda and Ethiopia- with the top two teams after the first round cruising into the semi final stage.

Group B on the other hand, also comprises of Nigeria, Senegal, Morocco and Cameroon.

The 2023 Africa Games will be the 13th edition since it inception and will be hosted in Ghana, from 8-23 March, 2024, with Borteyman Sports Complex being the main venue for the multi-sporta competition.

The Black Princesses just recently were in camp under the tutelage of head coach Yussif Basigi and wrapped their seventh FIFA World Cup qualification after a resounding 7-1 on aggregate win over Senegal.
