The Ashanti Regional male inter-schools and colleges football competition heated up today with the highly anticipated commencement of the round 32 stage at the iconic Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Out of the eight scheduled matches, seven were successfully honoured today while the final game of the day between Konongo Odumase SHS and Komfo Anokye SHS was postponed due to inclement weather, after a pulsating goalless draw at half-time.

The day's opening match between Mankranso SHS and Dadease Agric SHS ended in a thrilling 1-1 stalemate, with Mankranso subsequently emerging victorious by edging their opponents 5-4 in a very ensuing penalty shootouts.

Three-time champions T. I Amass Phobia demonstrated their prowess with a resounding 4-0 victory over Mpasatia SHTS in the second match of the day. The dominant display showcased the team's skill and experience.

In the third match, Simms SHS staged a remarkable comeback, overcoming a one-goal deficit to secure a 2-1 win over St. Hubert SHS. The thrilling victory earned Simms a spot in the round of 16.

The fourth game saw Kurofa Methodist SHS push defending champions KASS to the limit. The game ended 1-1 after regulation time, with the Disciples' experience ultimately paying off as they won the penalty shootout 4-3 to cruise into the next round.

In the fifth match, Fast Track SHS pulled off a surprise victory, defeating Jachie Pramso SHS by 1-0 to advance to the next round. The underdogs' impressive performance earned them a well-deserved win.

Opoku Ware School showcased their experience with a dominant 4-0 victory over New Edubiase SHS in the sixth match, securing their spot in the next round.

Five-time conquerors Adu Gyamfi SHS demonstrated their class with a resounding 4-0 win over Tepa SHS, highlighting their strength and prowess.

The final match of the evening, between Koss and Komfo Anokye, was postponed due to inclement weather, with the first half ending in a goalless draw. The match will resume on Friday as an early kickoff.
