Black Stars head coach Otto Addo will be without his two key players Alexander Djiku and Joseph Paintsil for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Chad tomorrow due to genuine reasons.

The senior men national team of Ghana opened camp last Monday and held two training sessions in Accra before departing to N’Djamena last Tuesday for the crunchy clash coming up.

However, bulky defender Alexander Djiku couldn’t make the trip as he is currently working to complete his next move to Russian side Spartak Moscow and is expected in the country by Friday which automatically rules him out of tomorrow’s game.

Also, Joseph Paintsil won’t be in action due to a delayed departure from Los Angeles to Accra. He was expected yesterday but could only arrive this morning when the team has already left.

The good news is that both players will be available for the herculean clash against Mali next week.

The Black Stars are currently leading Group I after six matches with 15 points; amassed from five wins and a draw and will definitely hope to win these games coming up to brighten their qualification chances.

The game against Chad is slated for Thursday, September 4, at the Marshal Idriss Déby Itno Stadium at 13:00GMT
