Ghana captain Jordan Ayew has called for focus and composure as the Black Stars edge closer to qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup following their emphatic 5–0 win over the Central African Republic (CAR).

Goals from Mohammed Salisu, Thomas Partey, Alexander Djiku, Ayew himself, and Kamaldeen Sulemana sealed a statement victory for Otto Addo’s men at the Stade d’Honneur de Meknes in Morocco.

Despite the commanding result, Ayew insisted that the team must maintain the same level of determination heading into their final qualifier against Comoros on Sunday.

“Nothing changes for us. It’s still an important game — there’s something at stake, and that’s to win and finish the job,” Ayew told 3Sports.

“We don’t want to get carried away. We want to finish hard and strong, and make our fans proud.”

The result lifts Ghana to 22 points and the top of Group I, putting them in pole position to book their place at next year’s mundial in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The Black Stars will host Comoros on Sunday, October 12, at 7 p.m. local time in what could be the decisive fixture confirming their return to the World Cup stage.
