Black Stars head coach Otto Addo believes Ghana’s destiny is in their own hands as they prepare for a crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Chad.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Addo expressed confidence in his squad’s ability to build on their recent success, particularly their vital away win against Mali.
"Surely, I am the head coach of the Black Stars, but this is not just about me. I understand the pressure, but we are in a good position," Addo stated. "The players fought hard to beat Mali away, which was crucial in getting us back near the top. Now, we have our fate in our own hands."
The coach also highlighted the positive atmosphere surrounding the team, crediting the fans for creating an environment that motivates the players.
"This is very important and very good for us. The players feel welcome, and the energy from outside is incredible. That support matters a lot, and I am confident we will deliver," he added.
The Black Stars wrapped up their final training session at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday.
They will face Chad on Friday, March 22, at 19:00 GMT, aiming to strengthen their grip on World Cup qualification.
