Antoine Semenyo and the Black Stars took to the pitch on Friday night with one goal in mind—score as many as possible.

The Bournemouth striker set the tone early, leading Ghana to a dominant 5-0 victory over Chad in their fifth Group I match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Fans erupted as Ghana’s attack came to life, and Semenyo was thrilled with the team's performance.

“We wanted to win this game and start the qualifiers strong. We also wanted to score as many goals as possible because goal difference could be crucial in the group. It was a great team performance today,” Semenyo said after the match.

The scoring spree began just two minutes in, with Semenyo striking first. Inaki Williams doubled the lead in the 31st minute, followed by Jordan Ayew’s penalty in the 36th.

Mohammed Salisu added a fourth in the 56th minute before Ernest Nuamah sealed the rout in the 68th minute of the game.

With this emphatic victory, Ghana moves to the top of Group I. The Black Stars now turn their attention to Madagascar, whom they will face on March 24, as they aim to maintain their momentum in the qualifiers.
