In a recent development, Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer has been called up by Black Stars Head Coach Chris Hughton to replace Inaki Williams in the upcoming AFCON qualifying match against Madagascar.

Inaki Williams, who was initially included in Ghana's squad for the qualifier, has been sidelined due to a knee injury.

In a statement released on Monday, Inaki explained, "For the past few weeks, I have been playing with pain in my right knee. I made the decision to continue playing until the end of the season, but after consulting with the medical team, we have decided to address the issue and ensure I am 100% fit for the preseason. It was not an easy decision to make, as it means I will not be able to join my national team, Ghana, for the upcoming match."

He further expressed his commitment to the team, stating, "I want to assure everyone that I am fully committed, and I look forward to returning to the Black Stars when the coach deems it appropriate for future call-ups. Thank you for your support."

Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer will join the squad in Accra when they begin their training camp on June 12 in preparation for the qualifier. The Black Stars will then travel to Madagascar for the match, which is scheduled to take place on June 18, 2023.
