Black Stars captain Andre Ayew was honoured earlier today as Ghana's all time most capped player after making his 110th appearance against Switzerland earlier today.

The four time African champions inflicted a 2-0 win over the Red Crosses in Abu Dhabi in their final friendly game ahead of the World Cup, thanks to goals from Mohammed Salisu and substitute Antoine Semenyo.

The Al Sadd attacker started the game and lasted the entire duration which saw him surpassed Asamoah Gyan as the player with the most number of games for the senior national team (110).
 
The GFA President Kurt Okraku, head coach Otto Addo and the entire team honoured him in a stunning fashion after presenting him with a big plaque which had a customized Black Stars jersey with the number of matches he has now written at the back.
 
The 33 year old has been with the Black Stars since 2008 and the 2022 World Cup will be his tenth major competition as he will look to guide the team to another historic campaign.
 
Ghana is drawn in Group H alongside Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay. The tourney commences on Sunday, November 20, 2022.
