Sammy Anim Addo, a former Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has urged the domestic football governing body and the Black Stars management committee to appoint Asamoah Gyan as the strikers coach of the senior national team, the Black Stars.
According to Anim Addo, this step will elevate the mastery and the attacking power of the Black Stars.
“These boys, especially in the attack, Semenyo and co, they idolise Asamoah Gyan. So, imagine him having a session. I believe it’s time we make him the strikers' coach because we have realised that sometimes the goals will not be coming, and the world of football is changing. A lot of clubs now have strikers’ coaches. So I will use this platform to plead with the authorities, the Ministries, the FA leadership, and Dr. Randy Abbey,” Anim Addo told Sporty FM.
39-year-old Asamoah Gyan, a retired former captain of the Black Stars is Ghana’s leading goalscorer, racking 51 goals for the West African powerhouse.
