Ghana’s all-time leading goal scorer Asamoah Gyan has revealed why he is yet to transition into coaching despite holding the requirement which is the UEFA License B certificate.

The former Ghana captain, who enjoyed a successful playing career in Europe and beyond with clubs including Udinese Calcio, Stade Rennais, Sunderland, Al Ain and Shanghai SIPG, has already obtained a UEFA License B but is yet to step into the dugout.

Speaking on the matter, Gyan stressed that coaching requires full commitment and focus, something he is not ready to give at the moment.

“The reason why I haven’t started my coaching thing is all about dedication. When you dedicate yourself to coaching, you will have time for the kids,” he said.

“I have a UEFA License B, but I’m not into coaching because I have other businesses to attend to. Coaching is about dedication, and you have to focus and teach.”

Asamoah has been involved in various business ventures since retiring from professional football and continues to play a role in promoting the game off the pitch, having taken part in the unveiling of Ghana’s World Cup kits recently.
