The technical team of Asante Kotoko has left five players out of the squad travelling to Accra to continue the club’s pre-season preparations, according to Kumasi-based radio station Oyerepa FM.
The players are Isaac Mintah, Emmanuel Antwi, Prince Badu, Zakaria Fuseini, Dauda Saaka, Kwame Opoku, and Johnson Owusu.
The decision comes after the Porcupine Warriors played pre-season friendlies against Benab FC and Ebony FC as the technical team continues to assess the squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The five players are expected to remain in Kumasi, where they will train with the club’s youth team until further notice.
Their exclusion from the squad travelling to Accra could indicate that they are currently not part of the technical team’s immediate plans as preparations for the new campaign gather pace.
