Former Ghana striker, Augustine Arhinful has called upon the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to further explain the role of Stephen Appiah on the newly created Black Stars Management Committee.
The domestic football governing body on Saturday, January 18 announced that Appiah has been named as Vice Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee, overseeing player relations.
In his new job, the former Black Stars captain is expected to work closely alongside the Black Stars Management Committee Chairman Dr. Randy Abbey, providing essential support to the management team.
According to Arhinful, Appiah's role is the responsibility of the head coach—who communicates with the players regularly—to handle such duties.
"The GFA needs to provide a precise definition of player relations; optimal relations are established when the coach has continuous interaction with the players to gauge their well-being," Arhinful told Sporty FM.
He further added, "It seems the GFA has identified some issues within the squad, and it would be vital for someone like Stephen Appiah to engage with the players in a genial manner, aligning them with the GFA's objectives."
