Ghana Black Stars goalkeeper, Benjamin Asare has emphasized the strong will and resolve to maintain his spot in the team as he gets ready for the coming Unity Cup, which is a four nation tournament in the United Kingdom.
The Hearts of Oak safest pair of hands, who was recently handed another call-up by the technical handlers of the national team, is strongly aiming to secure his position firmly as Ghana's first-choice goalkeeper ahead of Lawrence Ati-Zigi.
Asare marked his debut appearance for the Black Stars during the World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.
Speaking in an interview with Max TV, Asare stated he was ready to give his all and make Ghanaians proud.
"I'm grateful to God, our supporters and all Ghanaians for their support," Asare said. "It is not easy for a local player to get an invite to the Black Stars. Every match is a tough one for us, so we are always ready when we get a call-up."
Mulling over the demands of donning the national team jersey, Asare highlighted the importance of psyching oneself up.
"We have to psyche ourselves up and prepare because anything can happen at any time. Since we have received a call-up, we have to be ready to represent and make Ghanaians proud," he added.
