Ghana's final friendly with Mozambique earlier today at the 5th July 1962 Stadium in Algiers, ended abruptly following a penalty awarded for Ghana in the course of the game.

It was really a very tough tie with the home-based Mambas taking the lead in the first half, and hoped to wrap up their preparations on a higher note.

However, the Black Galaxies subsequently got themselves a penalty on the 70th minute after an opposing player handled the ball in the box.

The call from the referee got the coach of the Mozambicans irritated and ordered his players to leave the pitch, with all attempts to get them back on the pitch failing.

Coach Annor Walker dropped goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad for William Essu to start in goal. Augustine Agyapong and Dennis Korsah played together on the flanks.

Skipper Gladson Awako despite recovering started from the bench with Dominic Nsobila, David Abagna, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh all in the line up.

This was their last  friendly game to complete preparations towards the 2022 Championship of African Nations which starts on Friday, January 13, 2022.

Ghana is drawn in Group C alongside holders Morocco, Sudan and Madagascar.
