Following a disappointing campaign at the U23 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, Ghana's Black Meteors have returned to the country.
The delegation, consisting of players, technical staff, and team officials, departed Morocco on Sunday evening and arrived in Accra early Monday morning.
Ghana's hopes of qualifying for the Olympic Games were dashed after a 1-1 draw against Guinea in their final Group A match last Friday. Ibrahim Tanko's side needed a victory to progress from the group stage but settled for a draw, resulting in their early elimination.
Emmanuel Yeboah opened the scoring for Ghana in the first half, but Guinea captain Ibrahim Fofona equalized with a beautiful volley in the second half. Guinea progressed to the tournament's semi-finals, while Ghana exited at the group stage once again.
Meanwhile, the technical team led by Ibrahim Tanko is expected to submit a report to the Ghana FA Executive Council for evaluation.
The Black Meteors have struggled to qualify for the Olympic Games since 2004 in Athens.
